Writing tip for the day

Don’t take it all so seriously. I think this is something I do sometimes – worrying about every little aspect of what I have just written  and in my opinion, the frustrations it leads to can often be mistaken for writers block. But it could just be that you’ve become too caught up with what you’ve been doing, and if you start to struggle and become frustrated, it might be time to take a different approach.

Relax and be happy with what you’ve written. Leave it for a while and before reading it again. If you’re still unhappy with it, change it. But don’t take it all so seriously.

“And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”

Sylvia Plath
