The longest and the shortest

After writing yesterday about the Man Booker winning book the Luminaries, and how I am a bit put off by it being quite a lengthy novel, I found this image which accurately illustrates the point. The difference between The Luminaries and The Testament of Mary is striking.

i quite enjoy a long book if i know its going to be good. Lke The Stand by Stephen King knowing it was going to take me awhile to read it was great because i knew it was going to be amazing and i would have lots of time to enjoy it.

Similar novels that I loved and were very long (i thought):
    East of Eden- John Steinbeck
Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell- Susannah Clarke

All of these books could have been twice the length as far as i was concerned, i could have just kept on reading and reading.
